“I’m a hard-core Seventh-day Adventist”

"To me, the Bible is the ranting and raving of a bunch of flea-bitten camel herders who, tired of lugging clumsy stone idols across the desert, made up this notion of a god they couldn't see, and named him Jehovah." Concerned about this open apostasy, a faithful Adventist came to Elder Goldstein's office at the General Conference to study the Bible with him.

ROME TAKES A DIFFERENT POSITION

"Monsignor Georges Lemaître, a priest from the Catholic University of Louvain, proposed what became known as the Big Bang theory of the origin of the universe" (Big Bang, Wikipedia):

"According to the theory, about 13 billion years ago an infinitely dense state known as a singularity "exploded," creating space, time, and matter -- the components of our ever-expanding universe." (Clifford Goldstein, The Big Bang Theory, Adventist Review, 17 Mar 2011, p 17)

But there was still a Protestant church that interpreted the Creation account literally.

JESUIT ORDER SWINGS INTO ACTION

"The remedy? Catholics had to sit down and devise a counterstrategy that would enable them to penetrate all the structures of that society according to their own carefully drawn up and orchestrated plans, and in absolute obedience to the Holy Father -- a genuine process of inculturation. SOME MEMBERS BELIEVE IT

Seminary dean Denis Fortin believes!

BUT MANY ADVENTISTS JUST DO NOT BELIEVE

Administration at this flagship university does not believe. HOWEVER

One of Dr. Fortin’s students came from Romania, a country where most Adventists actually believe the writings of Sister White. As Dr. Fortin testified to his strong belief in the inspiration of Ellen White’s writings, the heart of Adelin Romana Baciu was thrilled!! Now he had been set free from the false teachings about sports propagated by Andrews University!!!

PRAYER PARTNERS

These two men of God developed a close friendship, spending hours treasuring the deep insights in the Testimonies.

OPPOSITION

He had access to the Testimonies, and knew about Sister White’s counsels on sports, but “The clergy will put forth almost superhuman efforts to shut away the light, lest it should shine upon their flocks.” (Ellen White, The Great Controversy, p 607)

KEPT HIS LIGHT UNDER A BUSHEL

So Dr. Burrill kept “mum”. No stirring sermons on the evils of football: “Some of the most popular amusements, such as football and boxing, have become schools of brutality.” (Ellen White, Adventist Home, p 500) And no picketing actions at the basketball games: “The year-round intramurals calendar includes men’s and women’s fast-pitch softball, flag football, soccer, basketball, floor hockey, and volleyball.” (Andrews University, Andrews Athletics, http://www.andrews.edu/life/rec_old/athletics/index.html)

CLASH BETWEEN FANATICAL BELIEF AND APPALLING UNBELIEF

Well, one day Adelin Baciu visited Dr. Burrill in his office to discuss ways of shutting down the Satanic activities taking place on the Seventh-day Adventist flagship’s campus. “Baciu, a Romanian native, attacked Andrews Seminary professor Russell Burrill inside Burrill's office April 16". Didn’t Dr. Burrill know this sports program ran directly contrary to the Spirit of Prophecy writings? Why didn’t Dr. Burrill warn the students?

SPECIAL APPEAL FOR REPENTANCE

After all, “Now is the time for the last warning to be given. There is a special power in the presentation of the truth at the present time; but how long will it continue?—Only a little while. If there was ever a crisis, it is now.” (Ellen White, Evangelism, p 16)

These world-loving Seminary professors are so busy studying the latest journals of Roman Catholic theology that they have NO TIME for Adelin Baciu’s questions.

THE COMING OF FANATICISM

On hearing this, Brother Baciu “went ballistic” – “An Andrews University student told police he was “out of his mind”“. For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me. Psalm 69:9

He had been reading 1 Kings 18 in connection with his theological studies, and now he had a Mount Carmel moment, as he shouted “How long will you waver between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him.” (per Prophet Elijah cited in 1 Kings 18:20 NIV)

Professor Burrill was slow to repent. Too slow for the righteous anger of Seventh-day Adventist student Adelin Baciu.

How had the Prophet Elijah dealt with this unbelief?

SEVERE PUNISHMENTS FOR FALSE PROPHETS

Then Elijah commanded them, “Seize the prophets of Baal. Don’t let anyone get away!” They seized them, and Elijah had them brought down to the Kishon Valley and slaughtered there. 1 Kings 18:40 NIV

And so he seized Dr. Russell Burrill, planning to take him “down to the valley” (per 1 Kings 18:40).

Of course, Dr. Burrill was hardly alone, there in Seminary Hall. After all, ““I am the only one of the LORD’s prophets left, but
Baal has four hundred and fifty prophets.” (1 Kings 18:22 NIV)

SWAT GOES JEZEBEL

1 Now Ahab told Jezebel everything Elijah had done and how he had killed all the prophets with the sword. 2 So Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah to say, “May the gods deal with me, be it ever so severely, if by this time tomorrow I do not make your life like that of one of them.” 1 Kings 19 NIV

ANDREWS TACTICAL UNIT ROUGHED HIM UP

ASSIGNING BLAME - SEMINARY HAS AN AHAB MOMENT

Not surprisingly the priests that run Andrews University and the Seminary went Ahab:

And it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said unto him, Art thou he that troubleth Israel? 1 Kings 18:17

"SELFISH AND CRUEL"

dismissed from the university.” (Adventist News Network, Seminary Professor Assaulted at Andrews University, 18 Apr 2007)

"For the divine statutes, which are “holy and just and good” (Romans 7:12), men were endeavoring to substitute laws to suit the purpose of their own selfish and cruel hearts." (Ellen White, Patriarchs and Prophets, p 123)

BUT WERE AHAB AND JEZEBEL AT FAULT?

And he answered, I have not troubled Israel; but thou, and thy father's house, in that ye have forsaken the commandments of the LORD, and thou hast followed Baalim. 1 Kings 18:18

We’ve seen complete documentation of this. As confirmed by official Seventh-day Adventist doctrine:

“One of the gifts of the Holy Spirit is prophecy. This gift is an identifying mark of the remnant church and was manifested in the ministry of Ellen G. White. As the Lord's messenger, her writings are a continuing and authoritative source of truth which provide for the church comfort, guidance, instruction, and correction." (Seventh-day Adventist Church, Fundamental Belief 18, The Gift of Prophecy, http://www.adventist.org/beliefs/fundamental/index.html)

It is an undisputed fact that university management has “forsaken the commandments of the LORD”. (per 1 Kings 18:18)

Which brings us to the classic Matthew 23 scenario:

But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in. Matthew 23:13

Assuming that being at Andrews is any help to entering the Kingdom.

If all the theologians were apostate, the Andrews University action in expelling Adelin Baciu would actually have been helpful to his spiritual development.

Of course, things are not this simple, since:

Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him. 1 Kings 19

WHO’S REALLY TO BLAME

Two of these are professors at the Seminary. Dr. Randall Younker and Dr. Fortin are true believers, lighting the darkness of unbelief at this world-loving university.

RIGHTEOUS DEAN HAD A PROBLEM WITH HIS STUDENT BEING BEATEN UNCONSCIOUS

“I continue to be troubled by the fact that our discourse toward other Christians can sometime be so violent". (Denis Fortin, Coming out of Babylon and Christian Unity: Continuity and Discontinuity in the Adventist Discourse about Other Christians, Adventist Society for Religious Studies, San Francisco, 17 Nov 2011)

Dr. Younker has done a lot of important research which confirms the reliability of the Holy Bible. He presents this information very convincingly to the students. And some of them, like Brother Baciu, actually take this to heart.

And that’s how Adelin Baciu came to have his “Mount Carmel moment” in Dr. Burrill’s office.

MODEL ADVENTIST FUNDAMENTALIST

Which brings us to Dr. Fortin – the Seminary version of Dr. Colin Standish – and his uncompromising belief in the writings of Ellen White. (per Denis Fortin, Dean and Professor of Theology, Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary, Andrews University, Paper presented at the conversation with the World Evangelical Alliance, Andrews University, 7 Aug 2007)

Because of Dr. Fortin’s consistent walk and powerful proclamation, Dr. Fortin’s Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary student Adelin Baciu KNEW that sports are of the Devil: “Satan has devised a multitude of ways in which to keep men from serving God. He has invented sports and games". (Ellen White, The Review and Herald, 10 Sep 1901)

Many of the Seminary professors claim to have met the Lord:

20For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ,

BUT WASTED NO TIME AT ALL GETTING BACK INTO A WORLDLY SPORTS PROGRAM

they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

21For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

22But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire. 2 Peter 2

As you can see from the Andrews University website, which boasts of the extensive student participation in athletics.

DR. FORTIN SHINES SPOTLIGHT ON GROSS HYPOCRISY

"For a people who treasure the truths of Scripture, there will always be a need to speak of discontinuity and of Babylon, but I wonder if we might be heard a little more if instead we spoke more clearly the language of belonging and continuity" (Denis Fortin, Dean and Professor of Theology, Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary, Andrews University, Paper presented at the conversation with the World Evangelical Alliance, Andrews University, 7 Aug 2007):

“LANGUAGE OF BELONGING” - ANDREWS UNIVERSITY STYLE

WITH A SPECIAL MESSAGE OF HOPE

Dr. Fortin thinks its wrong to beat and taser one of his theology students, especially when that continues after said student has been handcuffed. Now "it might be time for us to emphasize" "that we have a beautiful message of hope to offer to this divided and hopeless world" (Denis Fortin, Dean and Professor of Theology, Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary, Andrews University, Paper presented at the conversation with the World Evangelical Alliance, Andrews University, 7 Aug 2007):

But I have a huge problem with deceptive cons preying on the general public -- in the name of religion.

Several months ago, I get a knock on the door. And who do I see but some white girl and her boo. In my hood!

So I ask her what she be selling.

"Oh, nothing". She claimed to be taking a "survey" -- about religion. Well, where was she from?

Oh, Iowa. And if that was true, what in the world was she doing in Oregon? The whole thing stank to high heaven.

"So, what's your name?"

"Annie".

So, who was she working for?

White girl mumbled something that I didn't quite understand.

Well, the TV had been warning about door-to-door scams.

I know the Mormon missionaries, and they don't even need to say a word. They have their nametags on, and I politely tell them I'm not interested.

It wasn't the JW's either, because they always have those Watchtower magazines, and there's no mystery either.

So I told "Annie Hanson" and her boo to get off my property -- and not come back!

DRAMATIC CONVERSION EXPERIENCE / BIG BANG EVOLUTION GETS ANOTHER BELIEVER

(Eric Tyson, Investing for Dummies, John Wiley & Sons, 2011, p ii) Elder Goldstein read his Jesuit book, and was able to announce just 9 months later: "Big Bang cosmogony can, I believe, easily be harmonized with biblical faith." "As stated, I have no problem incorporating the Big Bang theory into my Adventism." (Clifford Goldstein, The Big Bang Theory, Adventist Review, 17 Mar 2011, p 17)

We can safely presume that thousands, if not millions of other Adventists have had the same experience after following Elder Goldstein's advice.

NEW BREED OF TESTIMONIES

“Today as I ponder the mission offering statistics of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, I remember listening with rapt attention to the latest mission stories, while my parents donated to mission service 65 cents for every dollar they returned for tithe. Such financial commitment to mission is rare now; it’s down to four cents for each tithe dollar. Could the reason be that the sharing of mission stories such as those I treasured in my youth has become almost nonexistent in most local churches?” (Jean-Luc Lézeau, The Ever-Present Sense of Mission - Are we losing focus?, Adventist World, Jan 2012, p 22)

The church is still telling mission stories. Just of a different sort.

Nowadays, church leadership has devoted its “rapt attention” to Jesuit books and theologies. reference

As the focus has shifted to enlarging the Kingdom of Rome: “I told them they ought to be Roman Catholics." (Clifford Goldstein, reference)

"Thus the false science of the present day, which undermines faith in the Bible, will prove as successful in preparing the way for the acceptance of the papacy, with its pleasing forms, as did the withholding of knowledge in opening the way for its aggrandizement in the Dark Ages." (Ellen White, The Great Controversy, p 572)

Elder Goldstein, Editor Knott, and the Adventist Review all come out of the General Conference, and they claim to serving up the “best of Adventism”.

Not everyone believes this line. Even BRI has put out a warning: "beware of false teachers in your church, and beware of their greed". (Angel Manuel Rodríguez, Biblical Research Institute, General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, Gloomy Dungeons for Evil Angels, Adventist World, September 2009)

"The Michigan Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist Church is telling its members that La Sierra University cannot currently be trusted to support Adventist values especially in regard to biblical creationism." (Decrying 'apostasy,' Michigan Adventist leaders push against La Sierra University, examiner.com, 2 Jun 2010)

And the situation at La Sierra is very mild compared to what we see coming out of the General Conference.

"Certainly, administrators and teachers have a sacred responsibility to make our schools safe for the faith we confess. With sorrow I must inform you that that is not always the case." Now the protectors have begun to waiver on this. The religious liberty department of the General Conference travels right into the Vatican to deliver special tributes of gold to the pope. And the Biblical Research Institute has been active in unity negotiations with Roman representatives in Rome and Geneva.

There are still a few Christians who venture onto the campus. One of them, Brother Ezekiel, was fearlessly preaching the soon coming of Christ, in public. The "cowardly, worldly, sneaking" (per Luke 9:26 commentary in Matthew Henry's Commentary on the Whole Bible) director of campus security had a fit.

STUDENT FEARLESSLY PREACHES GOSPEL, PENROD ARRANGES STOUT BEATING

He knows it won't look pretty for him when the Second Coming takes place (this evil man really needs to repent), so he laid down a crippling beating on Southern Adventist University student Brother Ezekiel -- while he was preaching the Second Advent.

CRIPPLED BY "PROTECTOR"

After being beaten, tasered 3 times, and choked unconcious, this student evangelist was unable to walk!!

(Audrey Cooper, Post-graduation backup plans, Southern Accent, http://accent.cs.southern.edu/?p=2277) And now most students, and faculty, have become corrupted by the prevailing iniquity on campus: "those who have had the greatest light and privileges have become contaminated by the prevailing iniquity." And this is apostasy.
